Privacy Policy
Effective Date: November 25, 2025
Hello, and welcome to the Purify community! We're so excited to help you connect with friends worldwide. Our mission is to build a safe, fun, and friendly space where you can share your joy and make new friends.
Your privacy is incredibly important to us, and our commitment is to be transparent about the data we collect, how it's used, and the control you have over it. This policy explains our privacy practices in detail. We encourage you to read it carefully to understand how we handle your personal information.
1. What Information Do We Collect?
To help you find your next pal, we need to collect some information. This includes details about you, and your activity on Purify. We collect this information in a few different ways.
a) Information You Provide Directly
- Account Creation: When you sign up, we ask for essential details like your name, a valid email address, phone number, and your date of birth (to verify you are over 18).
- Your Profile: This is where you shine! You can add information to help others get to know you, such as:
- A public bio, your personal interests, etc.
- Photos and videos of you. By uploading, you grant us permission to access your device's camera and/or photo library.
- Details about your pet, including their name, breed, age, temperament, and favorite activities.
- Your preferences for making friends.
- Communications with Us: If you contact our support team, respond to a survey, or participate in a focus group, contest, or promotion, we collect the information you provide during that interaction. This may include email correspondence and your feedback.
- In-App Chats: We process your chats and the content you publish (like comments on posts) to operate and secure the service and to keep our community safe.
b) Information We Collect Automatically
- Usage Data: We collect technical information about your activity on Purify. This includes the date and time you log in, the features you use, profiles you view, searches you run, clicks, and how you interact with other users (e.g., friends you connect with, and the time and date of your exchanges).
- Device Information: We collect data from and about the device(s) you use to access Purify, including:
- Hardware and software information such as IP address, device ID and type, app crash data, advertising IDs (like Google’s AAID or Apple's IDFA), browser type and language, and operating system.
- Information about your wireless and mobile network connection, like your service provider and signal strength.
- Geolocation: With your explicit permission, we collect your precise location (using GPS, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi) to help you find and connect with nearby friends. The collection of your geolocation may occur in the background if the permission you grant us expressly allows for it. You can always revoke this permission in your device's system settings.
c) Information We Receive from Others
- Apple ID Login: If you choose to log in using your Apple ID, you authorize it to share certain information with us.
- Google Account Login: If you choose to log in using your Google Account, you authorize it to share certain information with us.
- Other Users: Another user might provide information about you if they contact us regarding your profile or interactions, for example, by making a report through our community safety tools.
d) Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar data collection technologies to provide and improve our service. These are small files stored on your device that help us with things like:
- Remembering your preferences and settings.
- Recognizing you when you return to the app.
- Understanding how our app is being used for analytics.
- Enhancing the security of our platform.
You can manage these technologies through your browser or device settings, but please note that disabling them may affect the functionality of Purify.
2. How and Why We Use Your Information
Our main goal is to use your information to create a better, safer, and more enjoyable experience for you and the entire Purify community. We process your information based on the following legal grounds:
- To Perform Our Contract With You: Much of our data processing is to provide the service you signed up for. This includes:
- Creating and managing your account.
- Displaying your profile to other users.
- Suggesting potential friends based on your profile and preferences.
- Completing any transactions for premium features you may purchase.
- For Our Legitimate Interests: We use data in ways that are reasonably expected as part of running our business, provided it does not materially impact your rights. This includes:
- Ensuring a Safe and Positive Community: Preventing and addressing fraud, spam, or misbehavior; using profile and photo verification to help ensure users are genuine; and monitoring content to enforce our community guidelines.
- Improving Purify: Conducting research and analyzing user behavior to understand what features are popular and how we can make the app better; developing new tools and services for our community; and administering surveys, contests, and other promotional offers.
- To Comply with Legal Obligations: We may need to process your information to comply with applicable laws, assist law enforcement, or enforce our legal rights.
- With Your Consent: For certain activities, we will ask for your consent before processing your data. This includes accessing your precise geolocation or your camera/photos. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
3. How We Share Your Information
Connecting you with others is our core purpose, so the main sharing of information is between users. We do not sell your personal data.
- With Other Purify Users: When you complete your profile, you are making that information available to other users on the app according to your privacy settings. Please be mindful of what you share—you can't control what someone does with information once it's public.
- With Our Service Providers and Partners: We work with trusted third-party partners who help us operate, secure, and improve Purify. These partners assist with tasks like data hosting (e.g., cloud services), content moderation, analytics, customer support, and marketing. These partners are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are only permitted to use your information to help us operate Purify.
- For Legal & Safety Reasons: We may share your information if reasonably necessary: (i) to comply with a legal process, like a court order or search warrant; (ii) to assist in the prevention or detection of a crime; (iii) to protect the safety of any person; or (iv) to enforce our legal rights.
- In Case of a Business Transfer: If Purify is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you if this happens and your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- Aggregated/De-identified Information: We may use and share non-personal information (data that does not identify you, such as device statistics or general demographic information) for industry analysis and other business purposes.
We will always ask for your explicit consent before sharing your information with third parties for any other purpose.
4. Your Rights and Choices
You are in control of your information. Here’s how you can manage it:
- Access and Update Tools: Use the settings in your Purify account to access, edit, or delete your profile information at any time.
- Device Permissions: You can control Purify's access to your location, camera, and photos through your phone's system settings. Be aware that restricting certain permissions may cause some features to lose functionality.
- Right to Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. You can submit a request to purifynow@atomicmail.io.
- Right to Rectification & Erasure (Deletion): If you believe our information about you is inaccurate, you have the right to correct it. You also have the right to delete your account permanently using the in-app feature. When you delete your account, your information is removed from our systems according to our data retention policy.
- Uninstalling: You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the Purify app from your device using the standard uninstallation process.
For your protection and the protection of all our users, we may ask you to provide proof of identity before we can answer requests related to your personal data.
California Residents: If you are a California resident, you have the right to request a notice disclosing the categories of personal information about you that we have shared with third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. To request this notice, please submit your request to our contact email.
5. Data Retention & Security
We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for legitimate business purposes and as permitted by applicable law. In practice, we delete or anonymize your information upon the deletion of your account, following a safety retention window of three months. We retain data during this window to investigate potential violations of our terms and prevent banned users from immediately creating a new account.
We may retain data for longer periods if:
- We must keep it to comply with applicable law (e.g., some "traffic data" is kept for one year to comply with statutory data retention obligations).
- There is an outstanding issue, claim, or dispute requiring us to keep the relevant information until it is resolved.
- The information must be kept for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud prevention and enhancing users' safety and security.
We work hard to protect your information from unauthorized access. We use a combination of technical, administrative, and physical security measures, including encryption and access controls, to keep your data safe. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Our Policy on Children's Privacy
Purify is strictly designed for adults aged 18 and older. Individuals under the age of 18 are not permitted to access, use, or create an account on our platform under any circumstances. We take child safety extremely seriously and implement both technical and human-review measures to help prevent underage use and to detect any form of child endangerment.
We do not knowingly collect, store, or process any personal information from minors. If we become aware that an account belongs to a person under 18, we will take immediate action, which may include account removal, data deletion, and any additional protective steps required by applicable laws and industry safety standards.
Purify maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any content, behavior, or activity that involves, suggests, or attempts to exploit children. This includes but is not limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Sexualized or suggestive depictions of minors
- Grooming, enticement, or any attempt to contact a minor for inappropriate purposes
- Requests for or sharing of personal information related to a minor
- Any behavior that puts a child at risk of harm or exploitation
Any violation of this policy will result in immediate account suspension, removal of content, and when appropriate, reporting to the relevant authorities and child-safety organizations in accordance with Google’s CASE reporting requirements and applicable local laws.
If you encounter a user who you believe is under 18, or if you see content that may involve or endanger a minor, please report it immediately using the in-app reporting tools. Reports are reviewed promptly by our Safety Team, and actions are taken as quickly as possible to protect users and maintain compliance with global child-safety standards.
Protecting minors is a fundamental priority at Purify, and we continually enhance our safeguards, detection systems, and review procedures to ensure a safe and compliant environment for all adult users.
7. Policy Updates
We're always working to improve Purify, so this policy may change over time. We will notify you of any significant changes via an in-app notification or by email before they take effect, giving you time to review them.
